A different kind of sequence

Here are the details for this mode. Scorpion on czhylk.com uses one 52-card deck with four suits. Moves build down in the same suit rather than allowing cross-suit destinations. Four complete King-to-Ace runs clear the game. The tableau has seven columns.

Read the opening cards

Keep these points in mind. Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards. Three cards remain in the stock. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down. All cards in the last three columns are face up.

Build in the same suit

A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades. A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit. A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists. A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts.

Order within a group may vary

The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together.

Only Kings fill empty space

An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King. Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence. A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column.

Reveal the hidden cards

A few details help explain this feature. Removing all face-up cards above a hidden card turns that hidden card face up. An exposed card can carry the cards beneath it when its own destination is legal. Undo restores the earlier hidden-card arrangement when the move is reversed. The next hidden card is revealed automatically.

The final three cards

Here are the details for this mode. Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns. The stock contains one final deal of three cards. This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty. There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal.

Complete a suit

A few details help explain this feature. The game removes a qualifying run automatically from the bottom of a column. A completed run must descend from King to Ace in one suit. Moving an unordered group does not make that group a completed sequence. All thirteen cards in a collected run must be face up.
